Ymgynghoriaeth Gwynedd Consultancy (YGC) asked Eryri Arboriculture Ltd. and Consultancy to contribute to a proposal for a natural flood alleviation scheme firstly by conducting a survey of existing trees located above a stream liable to flooding in Tremadog within an upland stream catchment. Eryri Arboriculture Ltd. and Consultancy surveyed the condition of the existing trees and proposed a planting scheme designed to improve the resilience and biodiversity with additional planting of native riparian tree species such as Willow, Alder Black Poplar and Downy Birch. Eryri Arboriculture Ltd. was pleased to work alongside YGC and to have contributed to meeting YGC’s objectives of carrying out a natural flood alleviation scheme using natural materials and ensuring a low carbon footprint.

Eryri Arboriculture Ltd. is committed to improving urban tree cover and the preservation and enhancement of existing stock wherever possible.
Our Projects
Gwynedd Council asked Eryri Arboriculture Ltd. to carry out a survey of their urban street trees in Pwllheli in 2022. The council wanted to re plant an area of the town in order to demonstrate what could be achieved as part of a larger funding application. Eryri arboriculture Ltd. advised and produced a report on how to rejuvenate existing urban trees allowing the council to plant elsewhere and increase tree coverage in the town. The trial was so successful that additional funding was granted for planting and rejuvenation in Pwllheli, Porthmadog, Criccieth and Edern. The additional tree planting could be combined with original stock to provide carbon sequestration data.
